In this interaction between two males, the mixed breed exhibits anal-genital olfactory exploration while the smooth-coated Border Collie stands still and avoids eye contact. The Border Collie moves away, followed by the mixed breed. The Border Collie stops, turns around and the two dogs start to face off. The Border Collie again moves away, and when the mixed breed follows him, the Border Collie blocks his path with his body. The two dogs once again face off, each licking his nose, then separate.
