Following
Staring at another dog and following it at a short
distance. The dog who is being followed appears not to
have the choice of choosing where to go.

When the mixed breed male senses that he is being
followed by the female chocolate Labrador, he first
swerves, then re-orients in a lateral stance, and when
the female begins a rear approach, he moves away. The
Labrador follows him
and exhibits anal-genital olfactory exploration, then
orients toward the other dog's head and interposes
herself between the mixed breed and his owner. The mixed
breed stops, turns his head toward the Labrador and
raises a front paw. The Labrador has stopped in T
position. The mixed breed male exhibits hackles raised
on the neck/shoulders and withers, and moves off. When
the Labrador follows
him, the male seeks support from his owner. The Labrador
interposes herself between the mixed breed and his
owner, the male dog re-orients in a frontal stance and
stares at the Labrador, who moves away. The Labrador follows
him and interposes herself between the male and his
owner. The male walks slowly and stiffly, hunching his
back, and again seeks support from his owner. When the
Labrador is called away the mixed breed male shakes off
with his entire body, seeks support from his owner, then
exhibits an approach with greeting and seeks support
from me.
