Stopping: lateral stance

The dog blocks the forward movement of another dog by positioning himself in front of the dog in a lateral stance (T2 position).

The young male red and white Border Collie approaches the Border Collie bitch. The two dogs face off, and when the bitch attempts anus-genital olfactory exploration, the male exhibits an offensive facial display and hook, followed by a head press and the beginning of an attack which the bitch swerves away from, spinning around and stopping the male by standing tall in a lateral stance. The male responds by showing courtship behaviours.
