Lurking

The dog, lying on the ground in a sphinx position, stares intensely at another dog (or prey animal). If the dog is standing, its head is held horizontally, or slightly lower than its back.
(Goodman et al., 2002)

The mixed breed male exhibits an indirect approach, while the Boxer bitch lurks near her owner. When the male overtakes her, the Boxer approaches him at a run; he runs away, then re-orients laterally and orients his head toward the Boxer, who watches him with an offensive facial display. When the mixed breed begins to run away, she charges after him. The mixed breed male stops, re-orients in a frontal stance, bows, swerves to the side, leaps forward, bows and again swerves to the side, maintaining eye contact with the Boxer while running.
