Spinning round rapidly, in general to face off with another dog.
Spinning around quickly, either to face off with another dog, or in the presence of physical barriers such as a fence or a leash.

The Irish Terrier bitch is standing still in front of the chain link fence; the male Cane Corso approaches from a frontal stance. The female reacts by shifting her weight back (bowing), then moving nearer, wagging her tail and with a front paw raised. The two dogs sniff at each other through the fencing, the male bows slightly and then leaps forward, and the female reacts with a bow, and a stare. The male bows, still in a frontal stance and still staring at the female. who swerves to the side and then whirls around, and again orients from a frontal stance. The two dogs again sniff each other separated by the fence, and the female reacts by swerving to the side and returning to a frontal stance. When the male again bows, she swerves to the side twice, then whirls and finally leaps forward. The two dogs continue to face off along the fence; the female shakes off.

The male Boxer approaches the female Golden Retriever from the rear. When she glances at him, the male reacts with a bow with legs wide open, then exhibits olfactory exploration. The Boxer bows again, then leaps toward the Retriever and slams against her with his shoulder. He then circles around her and exhibits a series of bows, a leap to the side, and a rear approach. The female stands still, with her tail down and ears back. The male exhibits a paw jab to the ground with a front paw, then orients toward the Golden Retriever's head and exhibits a bow with front legs wide open and then whirls, orienting toward the gate of the fenced area.
