The Alaskan Malamute mix is in a wading pool. When her
mother approaches, she turns
her ears back, closes her eyes, lowers her tail
and wags it slowly. The Malamute sniffs her daughter's
muzzle, and the younger dog averts her gaze and licks
her muzzle, pulling her head away. When the Malamute
moves away, the young dog swallows and licks her nose.
The mother dog stops in front of her daughter, who
avoids eye contact and licks her flews.
