Pulling on leash

The dog tries to increase the distance between itself and an environmental or social stimulus by pulling hard on his leash. Under stressful conditions the trigger may not be evident.

Video filmed during a behavioural evaluation. This mixed breed male sniffs the ground and pulls hard on his leash. He turns toward the exit door and again pulls on his leash, his head lowered, tail held horizontally and straight out, with just the tip held up.
