Shrinking back
The dog moves slowly backwards.

As a stranger approaches her, this
Dobermann is shrinking back.

This Greater Swiss Mountain Dog is a 3 year old male;
the female Labrador x Husky cross is 16 months old. The
Mountain Dog sniffs the ground, and the Husky cross
moves nearer using an indirect approach. She sniffs the
air and then the other dog's perianal area while the
male urinates. When he turns to face off with her she
turns her ears sideways and shrinks
away. She then exhibits a threat display
towards the Mountain Dog, who leaps to the side.
