This female German Shepherd has reacted to the approach of a male Border Collie by displaying growl-barking and raised hackles, rearing up and repositioning herself in a frontal stance when the male attempts an approach. She then barks at him, baring her top teeth, breathing with mouth open and commissures pulled back. The male exhibits de-escalation and courtship behaviours. The female briefly sniffs his head, exhibiting an agonistic pucker and then high-pitched barking, before leaving the interaction and returning to her owner.

Video clip of a behavioural evaluation. The female Bull Terrier mix exhibits olfactory exploration of the area, glancing at the people in front of her. When she feels her leash pull taut around her paw she hurtles toward the person holding the leash, touches the woman's hands with her muzzle and pants. She then whines, advancing toward the people in front of her; when she is held back she returns to the person holding the leash, displays a greeting and then again moves forward and exhibits high-pitched barking. She then turns and orients her muzzle toward the leash before again attempting to move forward, pulling on the lead and leaping forward.
